Red Carpet Review

Last night was the Golden Globes.

I did not watch for 3 reasons:

1. I do not like this awards show. Super boring. They all sit around eating dinner and it's weird.

2. I do not like Ricky Gervais and his celebrity bashing.

3. The Packers were playing the Giants. NFL playoffs trump all.

I did, however, watch a bit of the red carpet, and I always enjoy looking at the pictures of the Best and Worst Dressed.

And then I always compile my own list.

BEST DRESSED NOMINEES ARE:

Sofia Vergara

I don't know if she ever looks bad, but this navy color is stunning on her, and I love the sleek hair.

Charlize Theron

Seriously? Let's all say it together: FLAWLESS.

Mark Wahlberg

Not just a guy in a tux. I wonder if he's wearing Calvins underneath...

Jessica Alba

She just gave birth six months ago. SIX MONTHS AGO. Somebody PLEASE tell me I will look like this six months after Brooke Allen is born...oh wait...I didn't look like this to begin with.

Nicole Kidman

Some people didn't like this, but I did. She's really the only person who can pull this off.

Kate Beckinsale

Again, does she ever look bad?

Elle MacPhereson

47 years old. That is all I have to say about that.

Dianna Agron

The entire dress is laser cut. Red looks FABULOUS on her.

WORST DRESSED NOMINEES ARE:

Julianna Marguiles

This does absolutely nothing for this beautiful woman.

Kelly Osbourne

As if the dress weren't bad enough, she's dyed her hair Sophia Patrillo grey/purple. And she's on the Fashion Police?

Meryl StreepCome on, Meryl. You've done much better.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

She said today that she let her little girl pick out her dress. Yep. It shows.

Amy Poehler

Nude was the color of the evening, and this was a bad choice.

Natalie Portman

Looks like it came off the bridesmaid's clearance rack.

Katherine McPhee

I don't get it.

Kyle Richards

One of my favorite housewives in an unfortunate outfit and even worse hair. Get it together, Kyle.

Overall, it wasn't a terrible night for fashion, but there were some exceptions.

Who was your favorite?

Sharp Dressed Man

Last night was the Oscars!

I watched the whole thing from beginning to end for the first time in a long time.

Thoughts?

I thought James Franco was the weirdest host they've ever had. He had a strange look on his face the whole time.

Kirk Douglas cracked me up, but at the same time, he made me uncomfortable. Might be a creepster.

Anne Hathaway was not funny, but adorable.

And I haven't seen ANY of the movies they nominated.

What else?

OH YEH!!!!!

KATIE'S ACADEMY AWARDS FASHION REPORT!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!

BEST DRESSED NOMINEES ARE...

Halle Berry
Hello, Bombshell. She's definitely THE most beautiful woman in the world.

Jennifer Hudson
Jenny Craig works for her. DANG she looked good. Perfect color.

Gwyneth Paltrow
I am in love with this dress. So modern, yet so effortless.

Haleigh Steinfeld
Didn't see her movie, but this is how a teenager should dress for the Oscars.

Sandra Bullock
Beautiful gown. I wish she'd had just a little more accessories, but this is gorgeous.

Celine Dion
WOWZERS. She just had twins in October.

BEST DRESSED COUPLES

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz
That's a whole lot of Spanish gorgeousness right there.

Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend
I think this is the first time this Texas boy has been shown up.

Mark Wahlberg and his wife
Markie Mark is gorgeous. And so is his wife.

WORST DRESSED NOMINEES ARE...

Reese Witherspoon
I'm so upset. I love her so much, but this looks like a bridesmaid's dress. So sad.

Scarlett Johanssen
Oh, ick. Why?

Mila Kunis
Lavender pasties? No, thanks.

Jennifer Lawrence
1. Who are you?
2. What's with the hoopla over this dress? There's no accessories - no wow factor. I don't get it.

Florence Welch
Love your music. Hate your fashion

Natalie Portman
Granted, it is hard to find maternity couture, but mix it up with the accessories. It's all one color and I strongly dislike the hair.

So, that's all. Who did you think was best dressed?

Oh, and I haven't done a Grammy Fashion Report, mostly because I haven't mentally processed Lady Gag - Gag and the egg. What was that?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

1. Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Acne Scrub
I usually wash my face with bar soap (GASP!), but as part of my Giselle diet, I'm trying to be healthier all over, including my face. This smells sooooo good and leaves my face smooth with a pretty glow! Not sure if it helps with the acne so much yet...I've only used it 3 times!

2. National Signing Day!
RRRRRROOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL TIDE! ESPN rates our recruiting class #2! Take that!

3. Pretty Little Liars
LOVE THIS SHOW. I know it's just as bad for my morality as Gossip Girl, but I just can't help it. So addictive.

4. Seeing this in a month
I bought Lakers tickets for Ben for Christmas. We're headed to Atlanta March 8th to watch Kobe whoop it up on the Hawks!
(What I'm NOT So Loving Wednesday - The Lakers haven't been playing too hot lately...They'd better freaking win against the Hawks, or I will march my little butt down to the court and yell at Kobe myself instead of Phil Jackson. Maybe I won't. I'd probably get arrested.)

5. Super Bowl Sunday!
We're watching the game with a few people at our house Sunday night. Although we're Saints fans, we'll be pulling for the Steelers!

That's what I'm loving today!

Oh, and of course, I'm loving this guy and this girl!
Yes, I know the picture is old (it was the first day we got Charlotte and she was only 10 pounds and 2 months old), but whose heart isn't fuzzy from this?

LOVE IT.

RANDOM TRIVIA FACT: John Wayne still holds the record for the most leading roles in movies. 142 to be exact. Thank you, Pawn Stars, for this useful information.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

WHAT?

No song title?

Because today's post is different!

WILW.jpg

I'm linking up to Jamie's "What I'm Loving Wednesday" over at This Kind of Love, a new blog I'm following!

Here are the things I'm loving this week!

1. My sweet, sweet puppy.

She's figured out that Dad (Ben) is the one she plays with and I'm the one she snuggles with. There is nothing better than that sweet puppy looking at me in the morning right after I wake up. She army crawls up by me and we spend a few minutes just loving on each other before I have to drag myself out of bed.

2. Scattegories - Cattegories

If you haven't played this version of Scattegories, you've got to. SOOOOOOO much fun and a little different from regular Scattegories. Ben and I find ourselves playing when we're bored, just the two of us!

3. Ben passed the polygraph test portion of the Trooper process! YAY!!!!! I didn't marry a liar!

4. THESE.

KEN-7njm-018-1_550x550.jpg

They will be arriving sometime next week, via ideeli.com. I paid $29 for these babies! WHOO HOO!!!!! Thank you, Kenneth Cole.

5. A quick trip to Dothan tomorrow night for a doctor's visit Friday morning. Conestoga and American Idol with Mom!

6. The new season of American Idol.

AMERICAN-IDOL-Season-10-2.jpg

These judges are fantastic. Just when I thought Idol was on it's way out, they've revamped themselves and it's better than ever! Can't wait to see how this season plays out!

7. A 60 degree forecast for Saturday! SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!!

8. As always, my sweet husband!

RANDOM TRIVIA FACT: The news that we're watching said that 14% of women would consider choosing their dog over their significant other if forced to choose. I mean, I love Charlotte, but I sure do love my man!

I Feel Pretty

AWARDS SHOW SEASON HAS BEGUN!!!!!!

I love red carpet stuff. The women look so glamorous (and not-so-glamorous). I love the classic Hollywood looks and the new, edgy runway looks. Here are a few of my faves!

Anne Hathaway
This gorgeous gold mirror ball dress was fantastic. She really can do no wrong. This was a look we have not seen from her before, and it's beautiful.

Dianna Agron
I mentioned her before at the Emmy's. She has the young starlet thing DOWN. Love the hair, the nude color, the bag, the make-up...perfection.

Emma Stone
Debuting her new blonde don't (RED HEAD TRAITOR!!!!!), her blush colored dress was a definite DO! Love the silhouette it creates!

Eva Longoria
Tony Parker is an idiot and I hope he locked himself in a closet when he saw this picture. Eat your heart out, Tony Parker!

Mila Kunis
This emerald color was a hit on the carpet this year, and she wore it stunningly. The texture on the dress is amazing.

Helen Mirren
Classic beauty showing you are never too old to be glamorous.

Julianne Hough
This look was panned, but I LOVE IT. She can pull this severe look off. She is beautiful.

NOW FOR THE WORST DRESSED NOMINEES...

Lea Michele
I really want her to look her age and leave the prom-bombs at home. She's a little girl. She needs less dress.

Michelle Williams

WHY, MICHELLE, WHY!?!?!?!?!?

Leighton Meester
Now, I usually love all things Leighton Meester, but this is AWFUL. Shapeless.

Julianne Moore
Hey Julianne! Ever heard of a steamer?

Jennifer Love Hewitt
Hasn't she worn this before? TO EVERY AWARDS SHOW? And what is with the bun on the head? I don't get it.

Vanessa Williams
The body and color are great. The middle part hair is not. Drop it, Vanessa. Give me some curls and body in that hair and part it on the side.

Angelina Jolie
I don't get why everyone is so crazy about this look. She's worn this same dress in black a million times. Just because she wears it in green doesn't make it a Best Dressed.

So, there you have it. Best and worst dressed of the evening!

Do you agree? Disagree?

Random Music Monday: LOVING this song right now. Total chill out song.

I want to sit right here
Stay away from there
Make pretend I just don't care
I could get up and go get her back
Maybe I'll just let her go...
