We had your First Birthday Party on Saturday.
Because I call you "Sweet Girl" so much, we decided to have a "sweets" theme!
Plus, I just really wanted an excuse to eat candy.
Your GiGi and I worked hard to plan the perfect party for you! Your GranBren (formerly known as Dollie...hehe...) so graciously allowed us to have the party at her house. It's the perfect house for entertaining, and our house just isn't big enough.
Your PawPaul and Your Nanny and DaddyJohn came all the way from Mississippi for your party!
We created a candy bar with lots of delicious treats - cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels, gummies, gum balls, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, marshmallow pops, and sugar cookie lollipops. Each guest was able to make a bag of sweets to take home with them for a favor.
Your Gigi and Your Nanny helped me by decorating with the candy pieces on the railing, and finding the perfect spots for decorations and presents.
You wore your adorable First Birthday outfit again. I ordered the onesie on Etsy and the tutu was the same tutu you wore in your newborn photos - it just actually fits now!
You had lots of friends come to your party.
Noah, Johanna, Abel, Chloe Belle, and Lily...who didn't want to take a picture.
We opened presents first. You were given basically your whole summer wardrobe! What a blessing! You also got several new toys, stuffed animals, and an awesome new wagon from GranBren! You also got a sweet red rocker from Pop. You sat in it like a big girl when opening your presents.
After presents, it was time for cupcakes (we did cupcakes rather than a big cake). I made funfetti cupcakes with cream cheese icing - my favorite!
You seemed to enjoy it too! You thoroughly surprised me with the cake smash. You didn't eat any of the cake really, but you loved playing with the icing.
Of course, you had to stop for a sippy cup break.
After your cake smash, your friends all left. And it was time for a bath! There was cake everywhere!
While the girls helped me clean up the party, DaddyJohn took you for rides in your new wagon. What a great gift, GranBren!
We had such a wonderful day celebrating you. I can't believe you are one year old. Time has flown by, and I can't wait for so many more of your parties!
