3 Months Old

Happy three months, my sweet angel!

I can't believe you are three months old today.  Technically, you have been alive for a year now.  I have loved you even before I knew you.  I loved just the thought of you, this time last year when I didn't even know I was pregnant.

We're coming up on the year anniversary of finding out I was pregnant.  July 12, to be exact.  Oh, how things have changed in a year's time!

This month has brought along new and exciting things!

You love to smile.
You smile alllllll the time.  Especially if I open my mouth real wide or make silly faces at you.  You also smile when we sing songs, play pat-a-cake, and peek-a-boo.  You also smile really big when I prop you up in the chair or crib and let you sit by yourself.  You are so proud!

You haven't quite laughed yet, but you make a squeaky sound that we are passing as a laugh.  It's super cute!

You are a fashionista.

You and I went to the art museum one day, and this was your outfit.  I love it!

We went to Dothan again, sans car breakdown, to see GiGi.
We had a big time at Amanda and Keston's wedding where you met lots of people.  You went to church the next day too, and went to G-Force with Mrs. Amanda.  Everyone talks about what a doll you are!  We had too much fun with GiGi that weekend.

We went to Dollie's house for Memorial Day.
You were too stinking cute in your strawberry swimsuit and sun hat.
You floated in the pool with daddy for a very long time, but you didn't get in because the water was too cold.
You took a nice long nap in my lap.  You love the sunshine.  No worries - you were covered in sunscreen.

You discovered your best friend...the light.  And the tv.

You also discovered that you are the one making your legs move.  You laugh at your feet when they have ladybugs on them and kick them around.
We also got you a kick-n-play piano, and it took you a while to figure out, but you got it.

GiGi stayed at Grandmother's for a few days, and we visited one night.  Grandmother loved being able to hold you.

Daddy brings you to eat lunch with me a few times a week.  I love seeing your smiling face in the middle of the day.

You also went to a baby shower for our friends, the Balcerzaks.
In this picture are Caleb and Caleb.  Caleb on the right was born three days before you, and Caleb on the left was born four days after you (I think - the week you were born is quite a blur - NO SLEEP).  Y'all were so adorable at the party, we had to get a picture.

We gave Daddy his very first Father's Day.

You sleep through the night.  YAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!

You hate tummy time.  Absolutely hate it.
You haven't rolled over yet, so we'll keep doing it until you do!

You've grown out of all your newborn clothes, and are wearing 0-3 month clothes and a few 3-6.  You are still long and skinny, barely weighing in at 12 pounds.
This was your last newborn outfit.  You looked like a stuffed sausage in it.

We also put together your exersaucer.
It scared you your first time in it, but you have grown to love it.  It plays music and lights up, which you love.  You don't spend a lot of time in it because your feet don't touch the ground yet, but I do put you in it while I make dinner.

On a sad note, we discovered that you have reflux.  It has been no fun with the puking going on around here!  But Dr. Stone put you on Zantac to help with the pain.  You felt much better, but you were still spitting up a lot after every bottle.  So against Dr. Stone's advice, I added a little rice cereal to your bottle, and it is helping a lot!  You sleep in your Nap Nanny in the pack-n-play in our room to help with it too.  I'm so glad that you feel better!

You got really mad at me when I was making you try on clothes in the next size up and you wanted to take a nap.

Your nicknames are BA, Bug, Buggy, Buglet, Peanut, Sweet Girl, Mommy's Girl, and My Angel.

Daddy's favorite thing this month is that you look sooooooooo much like him.  He loves when people notice.  And you do.  You are definitely his kid.

My favorite thing is singing songs with you.  So far, you love old hymns.  We sing "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "I'll Fly Away."  Your favorite lullaby is still Bob Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love."  I sing this to you every night.  I think you'll be a musical baby.  I just hope you have MY musical talent, and not your daddy's.

All in all, it has been yet another fun month with you.  You are developing your little personality more and more, and I love your sweet disposition.  I can't get enough sugars from you!

You are my sweet sweet girl.  I love you so much and I am thank God for every minute I get to spend with you.

Daddy's First Father's Day

Today we celebrate your daddy.

I've already blogged once about just how amazing he is.

Truth be told, I could probably write a million and one blog posts about how amazing he is.

But what's even more amazing is the bond that you and he have already formed in this short three months.

Because Daddy works nights and weekends, he is able to keep you on his days off and in the mornings on the days he works.  He does everything - feeds you, gives you baths, plays with you, does the dreaded tummy time, brings you to have lunch with me, and drops you off at Mrs. Maegan's before he goes to work.

And then when he does go to work, he works super hard and sometimes very long hours to provide for you.

He loves you SO much.

And you love him too.  He can make you giggle like no one else can.  You break out into a big smile whenever he comes close to you.  You snuggle in bed with him every morning while I get ready for work, and he sends me pictures while I'm at work of you and him together.

You are his princess.  He is proud of his daughter.

So to celebrate your daddy and show him just how much we love him, we tried to make his very first Father's Day as special as possible.

I ordered a bracelet from etsy with your birthday on it.

We also bought him a sweet card from me, you and Charlotte.

And then we gave him this:

A frame with your pictures in it!

It was quite the spectacle to get three good pictures, but in the end, it turned out perfect.

This morning, we went to church, and then let Daddy pick out where to have lunch.  Guess where we went?  Moe's.  Always Moe's.

Happy First Father's Day, Daddy!  We love you more than you'll ever know and we appreciate everything you do for us!  You're the best!
